Kagiso Motidi

Kagiso Motidi matriculated in 2014 from Queens Private School in Pretoria and was awarded an Old Mutual Umfundo Trust bursary to study at University of Pretoria (UP). Currently studying law at UP, he has been signed on by legal firm Bowmans for 2019. While tackling his LLB studies, Kagiso’s connection to his high school remains a strong one. He wrote this email to his teacher:

I hope my email find you well. We haven’t spoken in such a long time, and I figured you would be happy to hear how I am doing in life. I have been meaning to come and visit, but school (university) hasn’t been at all friendly. I’m always swamped with work, or I’m sleeping because of how tired I am. It’s been a good year for me nonetheless. My academics have been really good.

God has blessed me beyond measure this year. In May, I had interviews with law firms with regards to employment in the year 2019 (once I have graduated). By grace, I am now currently signed to one of the big five law firms in South Africa, ‘Bowmans’. They have offices all over Africa, but for about two years, I will be based in their Sandton office, and then possibly move to one of their other offices in the continent. With them being a top five firm means that the money will be great, so I am glad I made that decision. I am now currently an executive committee member of my faculty house. I am also part of the university’s Student Disciplinary Advisory Panel. I am always busy and running around campus. I was also honoured at the Golden Key Society function for being part of the top 15% academics in my degree. I’m enjoying myself. More especially because I’m starting to find myself.

I hope you’re not pulling your hair out because of this year’s Matrics. I trust that QPS (Queens Private School) will achieve another 100% pass rate!

Kind regards,
Kagiso Motidi
